It all
started at 3 o’clock on a rainy morning. We had to meet at the bus stop, and
as soon as we did so we left Haskovo. We traveled for 3 hours to Sofia airport.
We got our baggage checked and soon we were ready to get on the plane. It was
going to be my first flight so I was very excited and a little bit scared because
the weather was still raining. When we took off and got up in the clouds it was
so beautiful and relaxing. After 1 hour we landed in Rome. The airport was very
beautiful and very big as well. We stayed at the airport for 6 hours as we just
walked around, looked at the shops and had lunch. As the 6 hours finally passed
it was time to go again (finally). We got to the other plane ready to go to
Bari and started our Italian adventure. Our plane was late by 40 minutes and
that made me even more impatient. I got my baggage and went to meet
the people who were waiting for us at Bari’s airport. So, for my surprise my
very good friend Ivana was there waiting for me. I was so happy to see her
because I had been missing her since I last saw her in Bulgaria. After we left
the airport, each student went to the home they were supposed to stay in. The teachers on the other hand left for their
hotel. My first thought when I saw Molfetta was that this must have
been Heaven. I knew that I would have too much fun here and that I would make
some great memories and new friends. We left Stefani at Alessia`s house and
Dani at Angelica’s home. It was time for me to see the place where I was supposed
to stay for the next few days. Ivana’s dad was such a nice person that he stopped
the car on a small street and we walked into her house. I was amazed by the architecture. I left my baggage in my room and it was time to go out again. Dani and
Angelica were waiting for us. We went for ice-cream, the best ice-cream I have
ever tried and it was very big too. After the treat we walked around
the old city and we got to a tower where the whole sea could be seen from it. It
was so beautiful and I was sure now I was in heaven. We took some photos and walked
around a bit more. We saw the beach and I met Ivana’s sister. The moment I saw
her I felt like she was my own sister. All of Italian people were like that,
you just meet them and you feel they were your family. Later that day I met so
many people and all of them were Ivana’s friends. But I was really tired so we
got home, we had diner and I went to bed.
We got up very early on the second day but I was feeling much better and
not so much tired .We walked to Ivana’s school because we had a meeting with
all the teachers and students there. They talked about the project and that
this was the last meeting, which made me sad. After the meeting we visited a
very big church, and very beautiful too. It was huge. After the church we got
to one gallery, and the paintings were a little bit strange and extravagant. After the gallery
we walked around the old town and we got to the tower where I was yesterday. All
the kids got a group photo. After that we got in another church, which was also
in Molfetta’s old town, this one wasn’t as big as the first but it was
interesting too. We were getting a little bit tired and hungry but we were
lucky because our next stop was a catering school where we had lunch. After
lunch we visited an amazing castle-Castel del Monte.it was beautiful on the outside
but
empty from the inside. I was really getting tired and I hoped that we were going
home but before that we had to visit another castle. After that we finally got
back to Molfetta in Taverna du re where we had dinner almost every night in the
next few days. So we had dinner and after that we got home.
The third day was the most amazing one because we saw new and amazing
stuff. Every morning Ivana and I had breakfast and went to school. This day I
got to one of her classes I think it was the French class. Her teacher was very
funny and nice. After that we went to visit amazing caves. They were very long
and big and just amazingly beautiful. After that we went to another catering
school for lunch. After lunch we went to a little village with little houses. The
interesting thing about the houses was that their roofs were made from stone
and they had symbols on them. I was walking around with one Czech boy and we bought some souvenirs. When we got back to Molfetta
after that we had a little free time so I used it to buy some clothes. And I
finally had enough time to prepare myself for the dinner at Taverna du re. After
dinner some of the student got some ice cream and we walked around a little and
it was time to go home again.
It was the last day. I cannot
even express the feeling in words. It was hard because I
knew I had to say goodbye to all the people tonight and they were all amazing. After
the meeting at school we got to the bus again (we travelled a lot with that
bus) and we got to Bari where we had to be very careful because of the thieves. That day was Saint
Nicolas day in Bari so church music was playing all over the town. Our group
went shopping for souvenirs and it was there that I spent almost all of my
money because I was buying jewelry for me and my friends. After
shopping we got back to Molfetta at the Taverna for lunch. We ate pizza and as
always it was the most delicious thing on the planet. After lunch we visited an oil mill and we saw how olive oil is made. We
even tried some. After that we got to the shopping centre where my money
completely died ;d. So it was time to go back to Molfetta and to prepare for
the most amazing and sad night from the whole project. We got to the restaurant
at around 19-20 o’clock. It was amazing and very beautiful with all the trees
and the little park and fountains around. The dinner was delicious
as all
the Italian food was in fact. So I wasn’t surprised it was so good. The rest of
the night was a little bit sad because people were just sitting around looking
sadly at each other and some boys played the guitar. So, that made everyone
even sadder. When it was time to say goodbye it got extremely sad, everyone was
hugging. We left the restaurant and that is how the good part of the project
ended up. On the next morning everything happened very fast. We got to the
airport of Bari again, after 30 minutes we were on the plane in Rome. And after
another hour we were in Sofia. So, this is how I got to heaven and back, made
some good memories and left some good friends back there and I have been missing
them all so much but life goes on. I left my heart in Italy and I hope to get
back someday.
